Tech issues, and the latest proggie hijinks

I've had it. No more. No more satellite TV. I don't watch much TV, but the constant coverage of celebrity antics and bad programming in general, have left me no choice. My other gripe is with Windows Vista, the worst operating system known to man. I'm running it on my PC right now and its the biggest piece of junk from Microsoft since the ill fated Millenium edition. Back to XP I go(with some modifications, thanks to nlite). I'm almost tempted to try out Linux or Apple. But enough tech talk, on to the usual festivities. My good friend, the ever erudite PMUNA has raised an important question : Who is Reza Aslan? Details aren't pretty. The apple doesn't fall far from the neocon tree as they say.
Ali Eteraz, the perverted pro-regressive in mainsteam clothing is promoting an organization called "Muslims for progressive values" headed by none other then Ali Zonneveld and Pamela Taylor. Yes, these are the same two munafiqas from the now defunct PMU promoting the same old recycled pro-regressivism in a new package. As for the sisters sending Eteraz "hijabi hatemail," I suggest you desist because the divorced old man is really desperate for female attention.
Tarek Fatah, my favorite vat of greasy punjabi inanity has agreed to do a second honest interview. I'll be changing the format a little bit but the usual high standards will be kept intact. Look for it this fall, inshallah.

more good news for diabetics

Remember when I kept exhorting you all to take cinnamon with meals? Check out the following article on the latest study of the positive effects of cinnamon in the management of diabetes. My comments are in red, as usual.

Spoonful of cinnamon help blood sugar level stay down

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Adding some cinnamon to your dessert may temper the blood sugar surge that follows a sweet treat, a new study suggests.

Researchers at Malmo University Hospital in Sweden found that adding a little more than a teaspoon of cinnamon to a bowl of rice pudding lowered the post-meal blood sugar rise in a group of healthy volunteers.

The findings, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, add to evidence from past studies that cinnamon may aid in blood sugar control. However, it's too early to prescribe(not in my opinion) cinnamon as a therapy for diabetes, a disorder in which blood sugar levels soar because the body cannot properly use the sugar-regulating hormone insulin.

Dr. Joanna Hlebowicz and her colleagues based their findings on 14 healthy volunteers(a bigger sample size would have been better) who had their blood sugar measured before and after eating a bowl of rice pudding; each volunteer was tested after eating plain rice pudding and after having a cinnamon-spiced version.

Post-pudding blood tests, which were taken repeatedly over 2 hours, showed that volunteers' blood sugar rose to a lesser degree when they had the cinnamon dessert.

One reason for the effect seems to be that cinnamon slows the rate at which food passes from the stomach to the intestines, according to Hlebowicz's team. Using ultrasound scans, they found that the volunteers showed a slower rate of "gastric emptying" when they ate the cinnamon rice pudding.

Whether people with diabetes should start spicing their diets with cinnamon remains to be seen. One small study, Hlebowicz and her colleagues note, found that when people with type 2 diabetes added cinnamon to their diets for 40 days, their blood sugar and cholesterol levels tended to dip.(I believe that was the FIRST ever study on the subject, from Pakistan)

On the other hand, a recent study found no such benefits among people with type 1 diabetes.(Cinnamon itself is not enough. I believe it acts as an partial adjuvant to endogenous insulin, which may explain why type 1 diabetics don't benefit from it)

Further studies focusing on people with diabetes are still needed, Hlebowicz and her colleagues conclude.(Yep, but theres no reason to wait, even for non-diabetics. Its over the counter, and only costs $6 for a 100 tablets. It wont hurt to get on the DrM diet plan either(shameless plug))

Asalam Aliakum,
Yes I know you've all been dying for your DrM fix, but I've been very busy with personal and professional matters so excuse my lack of posting. I have a post in the works on immigration and assimilation, including a new analysis of the hate cartoons. The self-proclaimed "Sand monkey" and his little crew of neocon Arab "Uncle Tamer" sycophants will also be rubbished. Rest assured, it won't be pretty.

Till then I recommend that you all head on over to MuslimMatters, where brother Amad has two fantastic posts on the notorious Rand report and a new group of fascists who openly advocate terrorism and a 20 year jail sentence for anyone practicing Islam. Yep, its the usual suspects again, this time using fake converts to infiltrate mosques. Ho Hum. Go read up on the hypocrites of Medina, didn't really work out for them as I recall. Oh yes, the party is over and we're on to you.

The SuspectPaki has had his videos pulled of Youtube, thanks to flagging from Ahmedi trolls who took umbrage at his exposé of the Ahmedi cult.
